What’s Going on in Haviland?

A member for Kansas Citizens for Science has notified me of the “Concert and Meteor Fest” in Haviland, KS on July 7-8th.

After Dr. Denton Ebel of the American Museum of Natural History in New York and Dr. David Alexander of Wichita State University present at 1PM and 1:30PM respectively, Dr. Kevin Anderson and Steve Miller of The Creation Research Society will present films at 3PM and 4PM, The Privileged Planet and The Triumph of Design. All of this happens on July 8th.

I haven’t seen either one of the films, but they certainly don’t look promising. And while this is a meteor festival, appropriately in Haviland, KS which has a rich meteorite history, the showing of what appears to be a “design” film is an inappropriate choice and shows The Creation Research Society may have other agendas than a pro-science festival.

I’ll be attending.
